Happy New Year from The Surfside Family

Its been a lovely surprise to have a warm December so far on island. The island is bare of foliage, hushed in the silence of winter awaiting the beginning of the New Year. This is the time of year for fireplace conversations while enjoying peanuts and beers at the Ale House. Or the enjoyment of no lines while waiting for your cup of joe and muffin from Mocha Motts. The towns streets are lit up in the glow of Christmas decorations as locals and visitors alike finish up holiday shopping. The sunsets are something to behold in the winter when the air is cold and crisp. It does something to the colors of the sky, they burn brighter and with more brilliance. We invite you to stay with us this winter as you explore the wonderland that is Marthas Vineyard. Wherever you are, we wish you the happiest and healthiest of Holidays this year from our family to yours.

Its the beginning of the holiday season and we couldn’t be more thankful for an amazing 2015. The island is getting quieter as fall winds down and winter ushers in its own unique version of island beauty. Soon the land will be covered with morning frost, the beaches will be abandoned by all except for a few brave souls who walk them year round with excited dogs in tow. This is the time of year for exploring and adventuring into her bare beauty by land and sea. The north side of the island in Oak Bluffs own Sengekatacket Pond, will be full of world class kitesurfer’s (sponsored by the famous Black Dog) braving close to freezing air temperatures and 30mph-40mph winds for the ride of a lifetime. Local surfers will start to brave the predawn ocean for a chance to ride that perfect wave. The restaurants and pubs start to have that local feel again. The island is coming back to herself, and we invite you to join us this late fall to experience the island in her off season splendor.

We hope you had a good winter and cannot wait to welcome you back to the island as spring starts to bloom. As always, we’ve spent the winter working on  improvements to our property to ensure your stay with us is better than ever. This winter we’re updating our bathrooms and we are replacing the remainder of the 1st and 2nd floor furniture with new furnishings to match our popular, previously updated rooms. We’ve also purchased new A/C units for our suites to keep everyone extra cool on hot August days

Remember, we also offer gift certificates for special occasion like birthdays, Mothers Day, Fathers Day and anniversaries

Thank you all very much for such a great 2014 season, we look forward to an even better 2015!
