Martha's Vineyard is accessible by ferry, bus or plane. Year round ferry service is available from Woods Hole, Falmouth, Hyannis, New Bedford, MA and Quonset Point, RI. 

The Surfside Motel is conveniently located in the center of Oak Bluffs: just 100 yards from the Oak Bluffs Ferry Dock, 20 minutes from Martha's Vineyard Airport, and 10 minutes from the Vineyard Haven Ferry Dock.

On Island Directions to the Surfside Motel

By Car

 

From the Oak Bluffs' ferry dock go straight down the street (Oak Bluffs Avenue), the Surfside Motel is the third building down on your right just 100 yards from the ferry dock. After checking in you will be directed to our 2 parking lots behind the Motel, (down Oak Bluffs Avenue, take a first right on Circuit Ave Extension, then another first right on Pasque Avenue).

 

From the Vineyard Haven ferry dock go to the left onto Water Street. Proceed to the stop sign at the five corner intersection and take a left. Take Beach Road as it winds along the beach and follow the signs to Oak Bluffs center. Once in Oak Bluffs, take a left just past the Flying Horse Carousel (red building) and you will see the Motel directly in front of you on Oak Bluffs Ave.

 

 

Getting to the Island

By Ferry

Ferries to the Island sail from Falmouth, Hyannis, Nantucket, New Bedford, Woods Hole, MA and Quonset Point, RI. All boats except for the Woods Hole ferries are passenger only. If you plan to bring a car to the island you will leave from Woods Hole. Advance vehicle reservations are required. For the ferry schedule please refer to:

If you wish to leave your car on the mainland parking is available near the ferry port at parking lots for a set daily fee.

By Car to the Ferries

From New York: To New Bedford: Take I-95 to Providence; take I-195 East. To Falmouth and Woods Hole: Continue from New Bedford on I-195 East; take Route 25 East (I-195 South); cross over the Bourne Bridge; follow Route 28 South to Falmouth and Woods Hole. To Hyannis: Continue from New Bedford on I-195 East, take Route 25 East (I-495 South) and then follow Route 6.

From Boston: Take Route 3 to the Sagamore Bridge, cross over the bridge, follow Route 28 South to Falmouth and Woods Hole. To Hyannis: Follow Route 6 East.

By Bus

By Plane

Cape Air has scheduled year round flights to Martha's Vineyard airport from Boston, Hyannis, Nantucket, New Bedford and Providence. Call 508.771.6944 or 800.352.0714. Website: www.flycapeair.com.

During the season, US Airways has flights from Boston, New York and Washington D.C. Website: www.usairways.com.

Private flights arrive at Martha's Vineyard Airport and the Katama Airfield 508.627.9018.

Taxis meet all incoming ferries and planes and are available to all points on the island. Taxis and public buses take bicycles and pets or can make arrangements.

Car Rentals are available at the Airport and at locations in Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, and Edgartown.
