The Martha's Vineyard Surfside Motel is pet friendly, welcoming dogs, cats, birds and other small furry (or scaley) things with a package of treats!
We are one of the few pet-friendly places on Martha's Vineyard and one of the only motels where pets can stay in any and all rooms!
Well trained & house broken pets and their responsible pet owners are always welcome! We have no weight or breed restrictions!
We do recommend that if you or another member of your party have pet allergies to stay at a non-pet friendly establishment.
Most taxis and public buses do allow dogs, though it is at the discretion of the driver. Call our Front Desk for a list of restaurants that have pet-friendly outdoor seating.
Pet Rules
Guests will need to provide the Front Desk with a cell phone number when their dog is left alone in a room, as we need to be able to reach puppy parents in case of excessive barking.
Dogs must be kept under control and on a leash at all times.
Visiting pets must be people friendly and dog friendly.
Cats and dogs must be on monthly flea and tick preventatives (ex. Frontline) and be up to date with all their shots.
Owners must pick up after their pets.
Any damages or stains resulting from pets must be immediately reported to the Front Desk. Guests will be charged for any extra cleaning required or to replace items if necessary.
There is an additional non-refundable $15.00 surcharge per night, per pet.
So as to prevent any possibility of escape, if your pet is left unattended in your room we cannot provide maid service. Maid service is available from 8 AM until 3 PM, after hours please contact the Front Desk for towels or any other necessities.
Failure to follow these rules may result in an eviction with a refund.

Beaches
Dogs are allowed on area beaches under the following restrictions:
January 1 - March 31: No restrictions
April 1 - May 14: All dogs & pets must stay at least 100 yards of protected & posted nesting habitats.
May 15 - August 30: All pets are prohibited on all beaches from 9 AM - 5 PM. All dogs must stay at least 100 yards of protected & posted nesting habitats.
September 1 - September 16: Dogs and pets are prohibited on area beaches between 9 AM - 5 PM.
September 16 - December 31: No restrictions
All excrement must be removed and properly disposed. Violating these restrictions is an offense ($50).

Help Animals In Need!
The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click
on it daily so they can meet their quota of getting FREE FOOD donated
every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute
(about 15 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund
food for animals for free'. This doesn't cost you a thing.
Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to
donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
