Attraction on Martha’s Vineyard
You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy a ride on the oldest working carousel in the country. The Flying Horses Carousel in Oak Bluffs is one of the most popular attractions in Oak Bluffs and is located across from the Martha’s Vineyard Surfside Hotel. Built in 1876, the original carousel operated on Coney Island and was eventually moved to Oak Bluffs in 1884. The hand-painted stationary horses have been carefully cared for over the years with continued preservation of original features including, real horse-hair manes and tails, inset glass eyes, and brightly painted details.
The Flying Horses Carousel is open every day in the summer from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
